                   MINUTES OF THE BOTTORFF FAMILY REUNION

 

The 79th Annual Bottorff Family Reunion was called to order at 1:05 PM on June 28, 2009 by President Douglass Holmes.  The invocation was given by Carlos Friend prior to the carry-in lunch provided by the attendees. The business meeting was called to order at 2:10 P.M.

 

Secretary Carlene Bottorff, read the minutes of the 2008 meeting.  Motion was made and carried to approve the minutes as read.

 

Rhonda Clapp made the Treasurer’s report.  Collection today = $193.00  Current balance is $452.81.  

 

Carlos Friend made the Historian’s report:

              05/18/09        Mary Rebecca Leach, 86, Sellersburg (daughter of Clarence Bottorff)

 

Richard Lewman moved and Doug King seconded, that we contribute $100 to the Ladies Union Club, $25 to the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, and $25 to the Silver Creek Cemetery.  Motion carried.

 

The youngest person present was Nicholas Warren, 22 months .

 

Oldest person present was Bob Couch, 98 years.

 

Person coming the longest distance-Steve Bottorff and his wife from Cleveland, Ohio

 

Set-up committee for next year:  Judy Wampler, Pat Back, and Jeanie Bowen

 

There were 42 attendees.

 

A motion was made and seconded to retain the current slate of officers for the coming year.  Bruce Bottorff asked that he be replaced as Vice-president.  Christopher Bottorff was nominated and the motion was seconded.  The motion carried.  The remaining slate of officers was re-elected.  The officers for 2009-2010 are:

Carlene Bottorff, secretary

Rhonda Clapp, treasurer

Carlos Friend, historian

New Business:

It was announced that descendents of Sophia Fricker John Henry Bottorff were eligible for membership to the DAR and the SAR.  An application was made available by Judy Wampler.

 

The 80th Reunion will be held on June 27, 2010.

 

The meeting adjourned at 2:45.
